Learn when to replace your Aarke carbonator gaskets and get step-by-step instructions for a quick, leak-free swap.

Quick answer

Replace your Aarke carbonator gaskets every 6–12 months or as soon as you notice a slow leak or weak fizz. The swap takes under two minutes with no tools.

Why the gasket matters

The small rubber gasket creates the seal between your Aarke sparkling water maker and the CO2 cylinder. When it wears out, you lose pressure, get less carbonation, or hear a hissing sound. Replacing it restores full performance.

Signs it's time to change

Look for a CO2 cylinder that empties faster than usual, a hissing noise when you screw in the cylinder, or bubbles escaping from the connection point. If you see any of these, swap the gasket before your next use.

How to change your Aarke gasket in 4 steps

  1. 1. Remove the CO2 cylinder: Unscrew the empty or full CO2 cylinder from the back of your Aarke carbonator. Set it aside on a stable surface. Make sure the cylinder is fully detached before you touch the gasket.
  2. 2. Take out the old gasket: Look inside the brass fitting where the cylinder connects. Use your fingernail or a small plastic tool to gently pry the old rubber gasket out. It may be stuck or slightly deformed. Do not use a metal tool — it can scratch the brass surface and cause a permanent leak.
  3. 3. Insert the new gasket: Take one replacement gasket from the set and press it evenly into the groove inside the brass fitting. It should sit flat and snug without bulging. If the gasket twists or sits crooked, remove and reposition it. A misaligned gasket will not seal.
  4. 4. Reattach the cylinder and test: Screw the CO2 cylinder back on firmly by hand — do not overtighten. Carbonate a bottle of water and listen for any hissing. If you hear a leak, repeat steps 2–3. A quick test with cold water gives you immediate feedback. No hiss means a perfect seal.
